The third quarter of 2023 saw significant activity in the maps and navigation app category on the Android platform in South America. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting at 375K in late June and fluctuating around this number throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 291K in the last week of September. The app maintained a high level of weekly active users, peaking at around 7.3M in early July and stabilizing at roughly 6.8M by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride showed consistent weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with 336K and ending at 288K. The app's weekly active users saw a steady increase from 15.3M in late June to a peak of 16.4M in mid-September, finishing the quarter at around 16.3M.

Phone Tracker and GPS Location, despite being a new entrant, saw an impressive rise in weekly downloads, peaking at 425K in late August before declining to 177K by the end of September. Active users also increased significantly, growing from 110K in late July to 520K in late August, and then slightly decreasing to 390K by the end of the quarter. 99 - Private Driver and Taxi saw weekly downloads ranging from 195K to 229K, with a notable increase in early September. Active users followed a positive trend, growing from 7.71M in late June to 8.78M by the end of September.
